Basic Infection Control in the Dental Setting (Morning Session):

  • Introduction to essential infection control practices in the dental setting including standard and transmission-based precautions, environmental cleaning and disinfection, sharps safety, instrument reprocessing, and dental unit water lines.

  • Course Outcomes: Participants will be able to identify essential infection control practices to include standard and transmission-based precautions, environmental cleaning and disinfection, sharps safety, instrument reprocessing, and dental unit water lines.

Sterile Technique in the Dental Setting (Concurrent Afternoon Session 2): 

  • Learn how to identify when a sterile field is necessary in addition to managing the sterile field to ensure patient safety.

  • Course Outcomes: Participants will be able to identify when a sterile field area is necessary and how to set up and manage a sterile to ensure patient safety.
